Things to Do / Places to Visit near Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort Beaches There are numerous beaches that can easily access from the apartment (starting from 15 minutes drive away). Some of the most beautiful includes: Barnuevo, San Javier - Urban beach that offers a high degree of occupancy and a large number of facilities, access for disabled and possibility of different water sports. Restaurants and bars nearby. It is considered "winter beach" because in this season, besides having all services working it has panels to keep out the wind. It has children's play area. El Espejo, Los Alcazares – another blue flag, sandy beach on the Mar Menor with wind surfing. Volley ball and kayaking. Calm waters. Los Nietos – 4km long grey, sandy beach with showers, lots of restaurants and calm waters. South of Cabo de Palos – a group of three beaches – Cala Medina, Las Melvas, Levante – small beaches with slightly wavy water, ranging from sand to gravel to rock, great all round beaches. There are restaurant services and some good opportunities for snorkeling. Salinas and Arenales of San Pedro del Pinatar The Salinas and Arenales of San Javier is a protected area of the Region of Murcia. It is a wetland with sand located in the northern part of the Mar Menor. Inside the protected area there is a port and salt mines in operation. In summer the beaches are quite crowded, and there is a tradition of mud baths. The park has more than eight km of beaches. In the Mediterranean Sea are the popular beaches of: - La Llana - long, sandy, blue flag beach, with foot showers during the main season. This beach is composed by: Las Salinas Beach, "la Barraca quemada" beach, " Punta de Algas" beach; - "La Torre derribada" - El Mojón In Mar Menor there are also other beach: La Mota mainly known for his mud baths.
