| Stamsried is a state-acknowledged health resort located in the „Nature Park Upper Bavarian Forest“. The quiet residential and holiday village is surrounded by forest-covered mountains, meadows, mountain rivers and little lakes – the perfect place to find peace secluded from everyday stress and traffic noise.We particularly suggest you to walk the forest adventure trail, the local fruit trail, the botanical trail, the barefoot trail, the power trail, the fully organic natural spa in Stamsried’s Baroque palace garden, the ruins of the ancient “Kürnsburg” castle (one of the best-preserved forest ruins in Upper Palatinate) and the town’s market square with its statue of the Virgin Mary. The area boasts some 100 kilometres of marked hiking trails, many biking trails, various leisure facilities for residents and visitors alike (e.g. tennis courts, a mini golf course, an inline hockey court and a summer curling alley). Likewise, the area around Stamsried offers a host of shopping opportunities and cosy pubs.In winter, the heart-throbbing beautiful snow landscape invites visitors to be discovered, either on foot or by snow shoes. Many sled and cross-country skiing runs are just waiting to be used by winter sports lovers, as are the many skiing regions such as the Arber (only about 50 kilometres away) or the Pröller Skiing Triangle (55km). Furnishings Stamsried is a town featuring forests, a holiday village and many a natural experience on the softly sloping ridge of a hill. The car-free holiday village consists of about 25 winterproof chalets built in traditional Alpine style. Due to wood being the main building material used in the construction of the chalets the village fits in very well with its natural surroundings. A sauna, solarium and a launderette can be used for a fee while there are also appliances for small children: cots and high chairs (chargeable), children’s bath tubs, baby phones, pushcars (free of charge). There is also a playground and a table tennis table. You enter the 50 m² and very comfortable wooden chalet via a roofed terrace with garden furniture. The living room includes a well-equipped kitchenette (fridge, 4-plate cooker, percolator, toaster, dishwasher etc.), a dinette and a sofa or a couch. There is also a bedroom with a double bed and another bedroom with a bunk bed for three people. All chalets are fitted with a bathroom with shower, WC and hairdryer. This chalet may be particularly well suited for allergic people since it has never before been rented out to smokers or visitors with pets. Although located on the edge of the forest, this chalet is sunlit throughout summer since. The playground is situated between the chalet and the forest and is visible from the nursery. All visitors to the nature holiday village are entitled to free entrance into the wholly organic ecological swimming pool in Stamsried which is located about one kilometer away. The ecological swimming pool was awarded with the E.ON environmental award because its water purifies itself naturally, i.e. without chlorine.
